Recruiting & Hiring
Recruiter Capacity
Recruiter capacity is the realistic number of active leads, calls, and candidates in process that one recruiter can handle effectively without response times and follow-up quality suffering. It's used to decide when a fleet needs to hire another recruiter versus fix process or tooling problems with the recruiters it already has.
Recruiter capacity accounts for how many new leads come in per day, how many are already active in a recruiter's pipeline at different stages (initial contact, prescreening, interview, orientation), and how much time each stage realistically requires. A recruiter who looks “busy” by lead count alone may actually be under capacity if most of those leads are simply unworked and aging rather than being actively moved through the pipeline. Capping daily lead assignment — Fleegital applies a 50-lead daily cap per recruiter — is one way fleets prevent any single recruiter from being overloaded to the point that speed to lead and follow-up quality both degrade.
Why it matters for recruiting and operations
Understanding recruiter capacity prevents two costly mistakes: overloading recruiters so leads go cold, or hiring additional recruiters when the real problem is lead quality or process, not headcount. It's the input that should drive lead rotation rules and staffing decisions rather than guesswork.
